WOUNDINGS

Psalm 11:2 brought a fresh thought to my mind.  It was not a refreshing thought, but one of painful reality.  "For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart."

The wicked may not be flesh and blood people, but rather spirits of the evil one.  The arrows can be lies, taunts, divorce, sexual assault, pride, ANY circumstance that can cause pain, and doubt GOD'S love and purpose for my life.  The arrows of pain are usually planned in "darkness" but are shot at the righteous and lived out in the light of day.  The evil spirits know us well.  They have heard us and they know our areas which are most susceptible to "woundings".

The evil one has full knowledge of our commitment to the LORD JESUS and to whom we profess that we belong.  A strategy of his is to cause such pain and wounding that we become so distracted that we lose focus of GOD'S plan, purpose, and truth for our lives.  We reel and stagger in the pain, building calloused hearts at the individual who wounded us, and blind to the fact that the wounding was REALLY caused by the evil one as part of his strategy to render us inoperative for the sake of the LORD JESUS.  So that we can heal and move on in life, we can bathe in forgiveness for the individual and bask in the forgiveness that the LORD JESUS has provided for us.  More than likely, forgiveness is a process that we will need to address over and over again as we "see" the one who delivered the wound.  FATHER, give us YOUR divine eyesight of the "wound er" so that we can see what YOU see.  It will be "by faith" that we express forgiveness and it may take time for emotions to catch up to the faith expressed.  Surely we had rather spend precious time on the healing and restoring process than the time wasted being angry and defeated sucking the life and energy out of everyone around us.  LORD, we need YOUR grace to forgive as we have been forgiven by YOU.
