HALLELUJAH, WE WIN !

Related image   Throughout the Old Testament, there are stories of battles, lands taken, lands lost, and people being restored to their possessions. In the New Testament, we read of the hatred and  aggression which come against our Lord and is played out in His crucifixion and resurrection.  Paul spends many words reminding us that we are in a spiritual battle of epic consequences as Christ followers.  Sure enough, the book of Revelation wants us to experience in sight and sound, the great battles which satan brings against humanity.  I love John's casual, but weighty words in Revelation 12:12c, "He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short."  He has known since Calvary  that his time is short...Colossians 2:15, "And having disarmed the powers and authorities, HE made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."

My favorite reading is Chapter 19 and all the expressions of Hallelujah that we have won in Christ Jesus from the battles.  When I see Jesus in my mind's eye, this is my take, borrowed from John, "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.  With justice He judges and makes war.  His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns.  He has a name written on Him that no one knows but He Himself.  He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is the Word of God.  The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.  Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.  He will rule them with an iron scepter.  He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.  On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written:  KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."  Until then, John gives us two reminders, same verbatim, "This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints." Revelation 13:10c. More than conquerors because HE has conquered!  Forever learning.  In process.  You can win also, but you must choose Jesus now as your Savior and Lord.  Your choice.   #IHAVETHREESONS.
