STAMINA
Stamina is needed in every area of our lives. Working with students over the years, I find that they have little stamina in several subject areas. It is always a hassle as steps are implemented to begin the process of building stamina especially preparing them for the state mandated tests with their lengthy passages in reading or math problems which require more than one operation.
As an adult, I am constantly seeking to increase my physical stamina for the goal of a consistent 3 mile walk. It requires that I rise earlier in the morning, before sunrise to beat the heat.
I also note that another major area that always needs "doing for a long period of time without getting tired or giving up" is in the area of my personal prayer life. I find that I am willing to be more consistent when life presses and squeezes against me. Being desperate for His face and pleasure of time with Him has to become more important than seeking His hand of blessings and my needs being met. NOTE: HE IS MORE INTERESTED IN BUILDING MY CHARACTER THAN MAKING ME COMFORTABLE!
Presently, we have a very desperate need for Christ followers to pray and to experience God's will as it is transacted in heaven to be transacted here on earth. Our praying is how God brings those transactions about on earth. We have "sword rattling" going on from several nations and I wonder, are we combating and bombarding the heavens with our prayers? I remind all of us, from Ephesians 6:12, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the power of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Our struggle is against the evil one who is pouring out his wrath hoping to destroy God's highest creation, mankind. he has taken minds, hearts, and egos captive with desires to rule, to reign, and TO BE LIKE GOD! You and I have a weapon, a most powerful and potent one: Humbling ourselves and praying. From Ephesians 6, it is part of our Spiritual armor. It is given to us to fight the forces of evil, to intercede for others, and to meet our own needs. On your knees, in your chair, face down on the floor...our posture in prayer is not as important as our obedience to pray and believe God to move in and on our behalf. Brothers and sisters, let's fight the good fight of faith standing fast and immovable to His glory and for the sake of the kingdom. Ever learning! In process, still! #IHAVETHREESONS.
