IMPOSSIBLE TO BE HELD BY DEATH'S POWER

Image result for clip art of Easter symbols     As I approach this special season of the year and focus on the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of our Lord, I treasure all the glorious benefits of each transaction and what each has afforded me as a Christ follower.

In my mind's eye, I can see the Holy Counsel of Father God, the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit in conversation as they pre-plan the future of the humans who were going to be the first humans to be created.  I can envision the angels hovering near and over- hearing the conversation and being totally shocked at what The Holy Three have agreed upon.  Sin and rebellion again?  They had seen the ruckus that Lucifer and his angels caused when God removed them from heaven down to earth. Now the angels are going to see rebellion again  from heaven with their eyes upon earth involving the two created ones, but this time, Father God is going to intervene.  The Scripture from Romans 5:8,  comes to mind, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us; in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Jesus speaks that He will be agreeable to be the Divine Intervention to free man from rebellion's hold.  The angels shutter for they know how much Father God hates rebellion.  They also know that His holy wrath against rebellion must be satisfied and that Someone of the Holy Counsel, who is perfect, must pay the price of rebellion, death.  The plan is inconceivable to their angelic minds.  Another Scripture tells it best, "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.  Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.  And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death even death on a cross!" Philippians 2:5-8

After having several loved ones make their exit from earth, I am so grateful that the grave is not the final resting place of any of them.  Ole bold Peter says it so well at Pentecost, "But God raised Him from the dead, freeing Him from the agony of death because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on Him."  Acts 2:24.  Is that good news or what? With the death of David, my son,  I especially love the better news and promise from John 11:25, "Jesus said to her (Martha), I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.  Do you believe this?"  Get this promise from Revelation 22:20, "He who testifies to these things say, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen, Come, Lord Jesus."  Promise made; Promise Kept.  Forever learning.  In process.  #IHAVETHREESONS
