MOTIVE

  As I perused the daily newspaper, I see the headline, "City grieves as investigators seek motive behind shooting" in Las Vegas.  My very simple explanation, EVIL.  "But mark this:  There will be terrible times in the last  days.  People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy;  without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-having a form of godliness but denying its power.  Have nothing to do with them." 2 Timothy 3:1-5  We have been warned with descriptions of what these last days, years, will look and feel like.  Are we at this point of evil yet? 

I take note reading Luke 4-5 that twice it was recorded that Jesus went out to a solitary place to pray and another records that HE often withdrew to lonely places to pray.  Christ followers, we have the greatest weapon, PRAYER.  I wonder what are we waiting for before we are known as prayer warriors who are willing to withstand the assaults and THEN,  why do we keep withholding the good news of the gospel to ourselves?  NOT that we Christ followers don't sin and are no longer frail, fragile, and flawed, but there is a RESOURCE  indwelling us, the Holy Spirit, to call upon for strength, forgiveness, power, and a desperation for prayer to change hearts. We of the body of Christ have been negligent in personal prayer, so is it no wonder that the body of Christ does not practice this teaching ardently and see changes in the lives of minds, hearts, motives, individuals, and even nations? HEARTS/MOTIVE CANNOT AND WILL NOT CHANGE WITHOUT THE POWER OF GOD INDWELLING A LIFE!  Does evil prevail because there is a lack of Christ followers who HAVE A FORM OF GODLINESS BUT DENY THE POWER OF PRAYER?  "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done"....when we are willing to pray down His will to this ole earth.  HE  uses the likes and the lacks of you and me to accomplish HIS will!  Forever learning!  In process!  #IHAVETHREESONS.
