WHO IS THE MAN OF WAR?
I understand that we are supposedly a sophisticated, astute, and knowledgeable people, yet, it is IMPERATIVE that we understand another great piece of information and truth: that since the Garden of Eden, you and I have been in warfare with the evil one. We, as the highest of the creation of the LORD GOD, are the targets of the evil one and his forces. As a Christ follower, the evil one cannot possess you, but he can harass, oppress, and seek to squeeze the very Life of Christ in you. He chooses to affect your circumstances, control, connive, and impress your emotions to focus on "what is going on" rather than on the TRUTH of the WORD of GOD.
Moses' song to the LORD, Exodus 15:3, "The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is His name." Psalm 24:8 "Who is this King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle." Calvary is the scene of the greatest battle and the defeat of the evil one. Colossians 2:14-15 "And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our trespasses by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This He set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the ruler and authorities and put them to open shame triumphing over them." At Calvary, sin and death were defeated. Sin no longer has power over us and we are no longer condemned by our sin. That transaction applies to any and all who will humble themselves, admit the sins, and be willing to ask the LORD JESUS to come into the life and save you/deliver you from all that the evil one and hell intended for us. Scripture, John 8:32 reminds us that I will know Truth and the Truth will set me free. The Victor/Conqueror has given to you and to me as Christ followers, spiritual armor from Ephesians 6 that we might arm ourselves in His power, strength, and might and experience the victory that He has already declared for us. Romans 8: 37 "No in all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM who loved us." The real truth is you had I have been set free, BUT you and I must be willing to believe and live out of that truth rather than our emotions and the lying taunts that the evil one brings against us. You and I can choose to live out the truth of the Word of God by daily saturating ourselves in the Word of God. The Word of God is Spirit and Life for you and me. We are Conquerors of HIM who conquered!
I draw your attention to another word picture of our Mighty Warrior, "Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems, and He has a name written that no one knows but Himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which He is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On His robe, and on His thigh He has a name written, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF lords." Revelation 19: 11-16. We are Conquerors eternally! Thank you, MIGHTY WARRIOR who has fought and won!
