BREAKTHROUGH!
My word for the last couple of years: Breakthrough! I loved this definition, not my own, and don't recall where or who stated it, but I was drawn to it as I saw it. A breakthrough is an offensive threat that penetrates and carries beyond a defensive line in warfare.
For you who are finally awakening to the fact that we are in a spiritual warfare....WELCOME TO THE FIGHT OF FAITH! Human kind has been in warfare since the Garden, but like Adam and Eve, we have chosen to blame, accuse, and condemn others without understanding that our weapons are NOT carnal, but we have divine power to pull down strongholds/mindsets lifted up against the TRUTH of God's Word. II Corinthians 10:3-5. Our weapons are not words, doubled-up-fists, or hellish attitudes of apathy and ignorance. Ephesians 6 is a great place to gather and get equipped with our armor for war.
Breakthrough suggests a very intentional proactive stance that we as Christ followers must take as our position in Christ. HE defeated sin and death at Calvary, as HE is seated in the heavenlies interceding for us along with the Holy Spirit, we too are seated in the heavenlies, so we can stand against the forces of evil with the divine power, the Holy Spirit, who abides in us as Ephesians 1:13 states. We can demolish, stomp, thresh, crush our every mindset which we have raised up in opinions, imaginations, rationalizations, excuses, etc. For most of us, this is NOT a once and for all action, but a constant alertness to our mindsets which are not the mind of Christ. We have practiced our negative mindsets well and we default to that ole mindset rather than be willing to demolish/destroy.
Our breakthrough was appropriated for us at Calvary and Galatians 1:1 is our proof text: "For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery." The chains have been broken, and our response is to live in that TRUTH. Thank you Lord, no longer bound, but ONLY to YOU.
