GRAB YOUR GEAR

Related image    Life is very precious and I love almost every minute of it.  I am blessed to have been allowed to enjoy this life for seven decades, however, there are times in all of our lives, that life presents warfare.  God has graciously given to you and to me, as Christ followers, His full armor that we are commanded to continuously "put on" ourselves.  Some thoughts from Ephesians 6:12-19:
  1. We are commanded to be strong in the Lord and HIS mighty power.  Continual work because strength is siphoned off by our own disobedience and snares of the evil one which we fall prey by not staying alert in His Word.
  2. I must "put on" HIS full armor continuously.
  3. My enemy is NOT flesh and blood, regardless of who it looks like and acts like!
  4. The ole evil one is organized and has evil minions, for he is prince of the power of the air. He is the liar, he is covert, and subtle because he desires to catch us off duty...not standing guard and being alert. He rarely appears face-to-face with us. He is looking for a chink in our armor which is open to his appeal.
  5. The evil day WILL come and we must be prepared to stand/hold our ground in the assault, the snare, or the temptation.
  6. There are 7 weapons of His spiritual armor and it would be to our advantage and victory to put on!
  7. Notice there is no protection in the armor for our backsides!  We resist the evil one with all the weaponry that has been afforded to us...belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness (HIS), shoes of the gospel of peace, shield of faith (large and covered the whole body), helmet of salvation, sword of the Spirit (Word of God), and prayer in the Spirit.
  8. Standing our ground, we will put on the full armor that has been provided for us for the battle.
  9. I remind you in Colossians 2:15 "And having disarmed the powers and authorities, HE made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."  He was shamed and defeated!  Glory!!
  10. In John 16:33, the words of Jesus to us, "I have told you these things, so that in ME you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world."  Because HE overcame, we, too, are over-comers for we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus who loves us and has given Himself for us. (Romans 8:37)
STAY ALERT!  GRAB YOUR GEAR!  Forever learning!  In process!  #IHAVETHREESONS
PS: IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE, YOU PROBABLY HAVE ALREADY HAD YOUR BOOTY KICKED BY THE EVIL ONE AND YOU JUST MIGHT BE ENSNARED BY HIM!
